PI: Kevin Guttenplan

Dr. Kevin Guttenplan earned his B.A. from Pomona College with degrees in Neuroscience and Mathematics. He completed his PhD at Stanford University in the laboratory of Dr. Ben Barres and, following Dr. Barres's death, in the laboratory of Dr. Aaron Gitler, where he studied how astrocytes respond to disease and injury. He then pursued postdoctoral training with Dr. Marc Freeman at the Vollum Institute, OHSU, investigating how astrocytes regulate neuronal circuits using both Drosophila and rodent models.
